Care environments
Different environments, different needs
In care settings, textiles do more than soften a space — they contribute to wellbeing, hygiene, and peace of mind. Whether in hospitals, long-term care, or therapeutic environments, Almedahls textiles are designed to support cleanliness, acoustic comfort and visual calm — all while withstanding daily use in demanding public spaces.

Hospitals and clinical settings
In clinical environments, hygiene is non-negotiable — but comfort and visual ease are just as important.
Our hanging textiles are designed for frequent handling and repeated laundering, with selected fabrics approved for washing at up to 70°C. As part of our Hygiene solutions, they are tested under real-use conditions to ensure durability and long-term performance in demanding healthcare settings. For window applications, our sun protection fabrics are tested for surface disinfection using solutions containing 45% isopropanol and surfactants — ensuring they meet cleanliness and compliance standards without compromising material integrity.
Use washable fabrics for curtains and combine with dim-out solutions to support privacy and rest. Patterned textiles such as DEEP bring a sense of movement and softness to sterile spaces — supporting orientation and ease without compromising performance.
Elderly care and assisted living
In residential care, the role of textiles goes beyond function — they help create a sense of home.
Patterned hanging fabrics like ELEKTRA, HAPPY or INK add warmth and personality to bedrooms and shared living areas, while supporting zoning and light control. Dim-out options ensure privacy and restful nights, and rugs such as ROLLLO PRO help reduce airborne dust by trapping particles — improving indoor air quality and acoustic comfort.
The result: spaces that feel warm, clear, and easy to live with — for residents, visitors and staff.

Rehabilitation and mental health environments
These spaces often serve as a bridge between medical care and recovery — and every element of the environment matters.
Acoustic and dim-out fabrics help reduce sensory overload, support rest, and create a safe, controlled atmosphere. Our materials are tested for surface disinfectability and developed to combine cleanability with tactility — helping patients feel more grounded and less overstimulated.
Pattern and soft zoning provide familiarity and structure — essential tools in building safer, more supportive environments.
Waiting areas and reception zones
The experience of care begins long before treatment starts. Waiting areas often shape first impressions — and that experience should feel calm, respectful and easy to navigate.
Semi-transparent patterned fabrics help maintain light while offering privacy, and rugs help structure space and reduce noise. As in other care zones, our rugs also help reduce airborne dust — an often-overlooked benefit in busy, shared areas. With thoughtful material choices, even transitional zones can become more comfortable and less stressful.
